Insert the right-hand needle into stitch 3 on the left-hand needle, pass it over stitches 2 and 1.

Once you’ve passed the stitch over, remove the right-hand needle from the stitch.

Knit 1 (1), yarn over, knit 1 (2). The yarn over returns the stitch count to the original 3 stitches.
