Cuff:
R1: k2, P2
Repeat R1 in rnds until work measures specified length in the tables above.
Make heel:
To separate the work in two (if the number of stitches is not divisible by two, put more stitches under the foot), knit ¼ stitches and slip the other ¼ on a needle. This will center the heel on the back of the sock.
Leave the stitches on top of the foot.
Knit back and forth on the heel stitches, in stocking st.
In principle, make 2 rows less in height than mesh in width (for example, knit 28 rows for 30 stitches).
One can reinforce the heel with a specific point:
on RS slip one stitch on two (slip the first, knit the second, etc.) (thread behind the work), on the WS purl all stitches.
Shape heel:
Divide the stitches in three (if the number of stitches is not divisible by three, put the stitches in excess on the middle needle).
Work round trip.
Make decreases on each side of the center needle, taking together at each end of row a stitch waiting on each side with the last of the center stitches.
Continue this way until there are no more stitches waiting (only the center stitches remain).
Shape instep:
On both sides of the stitches, note the number of stitches specified in the tables above.
Then take the stitches left for the top of the foot and refocus the work with the heel back.
Instep Decreases:
Knit again in round, reducing 2 stitches per odd round (each side of the top of the foot) to return to the same number of stitches as at the beginning.
Continue knitting in the round until the required length of foot.
Shape toe:
6 sts decreases per rnds
1st rnd:
for each needle:
K1, K2tog, Knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1
2nd rnd: Knit.
Rep these 2 rnds until he stays 16 sts
Break yarn, leaving long end.
Graft 2 sets sts tog (see Diagram below).
For the even ranks knit the stitches as they come and slide the slipped stitches.
