The pattern for the stocking is the same for each chart.

When working the chart, work all WS Rows from left to right, work all RS Rows from right to left.

The stocking is worked flat and seamed.

Divide the CC ball of yarn in half so that you are working from two separate balls for the charts.

Begin

Cuff

With MC and smaller straight needles, long-tail CO 74 sts,

leaving a tail end of about 2 yards (the tail will be used for the hanging loop.)

Rib Row 1 (WS):

P2, *k2, p2; rep from * across.

Rib Row 2:

K2, *p2, k2; rep from * across.

Rep these 2 rows 3 times more.

Leg

Switch to larger straight needles.

Working in st st, starting with a p row, work 2 rows MC, 2 rows CC, 1 row MC.

Setup Row (RS):

With MC: K9, pm, k19, pm, k18, pm, k19, pm, k9.

Begin Chart

The chart is worked twice in-between the markers on each row.

Work from separate balls of CC so that you don’t “float” the CC across the middle of the stocking.

Twist the strands together when you get to a color change to prevent a hole.

**Next Row (WS):

(P to m with MC, sl m, work row 1 of chart across 19 sts, sl m)twice, p to end of row with MC.

Next Row (RS):

(K to m with MC, sl m, work next row of chart across 19 sts, sl m) twice, k to end of row with MC.

Cont as established, while progressing in chart until all rows of chart have been completed.

The number of rows you need to work depends upon the chart you are following- it will be 20 rnds for the Snowflake, 22 for the Tree and 26 for the Reindeer.

Work 2 rows MC, 2 rows CC, 2 rows MC. ** Work from ** to ** once more.
