Gauge

With 4.5 mm needles - or the right size to get a sample of 20 sts & 29 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm (4” x 4”) stockinette stitch with 2 strands of yarn.

M1 – Pick up the horizontal strand between the stitch just worked and the next stitch from front to back and place it on left hand needle. Knit through back loop. One st increased.

Instructions:

Cast on 92 [100 — 116] sts in 2 strands of CC1.

Place marker and join for working in the round being careful not to twist.

Cuff (2/2 Rib):

R1 to R4: *k2, p2* repeat to the end of round slipping the marker at the beginning of every round.

R5 to R7: same as R1 with CC2

R8 to R11: same as R1 with CC1

Shape:

Join MC.

For children size only, knit to the end of round, distributing 4 M1.

For  women  and men size knit without increasing.

You now have 96 [100 — 116] sts.

Pattern (4 sts repeat on 8 R)

R1: * k3, p1; repeat from * to end.

R2 to R4: k all sts. R5: k1, * p1, k3 * repeat from the * to * knit to the last 3 sts, p1, k2

R6 to R8: k all sts.

Repeat these 8 R three more times for all sizes.

Knit 5 rounds in pattern (for men size only, add 1 st at the end of the last round.)

Start decreasing as follow:

R1: * k10 [8 — 11] sts, k2tog; repeat from * to end (88 - 90 - 98 sts)

R2: and all even R: k all sts R3: * k9 [7 — 10] sts, k2tog; repeat from * to end 80 [80 — 89] sts

R5: * k8 [6 — 9] sts, k2tog; repeat from * to end 72 [70 — 80] sts

R7: * k7 [5 — 8] sts, k2tog; repeat from * to end 64 [60 — 71] sts
