In the digital world of computers, data is processed using combinations of 4-bit, 8-bit, 16-bit, or 32-bit pulses. But these are a machine language hard to understand for us humans.
So, it's necessary to convert this machine language to numbers understandable to us. This can be realized by the BCD to 7-Segment Decoder that displays the decoded notations on the LED display.
In this project, we're going to find out how 4-bit BCD (Binary Coded Decimal) notations can be converted to the numbers 0-9. Keys S1 - S4 are used for input of A - D, as shown in Figure 1.
When any of these switches is pressed, it gives a "1." When it is turned OFF, a "0" is input.
Try producing different numbers on the display by manipulating these keys.
